Electroplating Colors and Metal Finishes for Custom Compact Mirrors
Wholesale Finish Guide
How to Choose Electroplating Colors for Custom Compact Mirrors
Start with CHOIZIN’s regular Chrome option, then compare the few finishes that best match your product, logo and packaging. Final color should always be approved on a physical sample.

CHOIZIN: Compact Mirror Manufacturing for Brand Projects
CHOIZIN supports brands, retailers, promotional programs and private-label buyers with custom compact mirrors and related gift accessories. Our OEM and ODM service connects product structure, material, electroplating color, logo application and packaging instead of treating each decision separately.
Buyers can start from an existing design or discuss a custom direction. For eligible projects, custom logo orders can start from 100 pieces and samples are typically prepared in 3–7 days. Final MOQ, sampling time and production schedule depend on the selected product and customization.
Which Electroplating Colors Should Buyers Start With?
Regular standard
Chrome is the normal starting point for a bright silver-colored plated frame.
Common custom colors
Gold, Light Gold, Rose Gold, Black Nickel and Antique Bronze cover most warm, dark and vintage design directions.
Project-specific finishes
Bright Nickel, Platinum Color, Pearl Nickel, Satin Nickel, Gunmetal, Black Gunmetal, Champagne Gold, Copper and other special colors require project confirmation.
“Common custom” does not mean every color is available on every compact mirror. Base material, part shape, quantity and factory process all affect feasibility.
Keep These Three Terms Separate
Appearance Color
What the customer sees, such as Bright Silver, Gold or Dark Metallic Gray.
Electroplating Color
The confirmed plating direction, such as Chrome, Bright Nickel, Black Nickel or Gold.
Surface Finish
The final effect, such as Polished, Matte, Satin, Brushed, Mirror or Antique Finish.

Chrome, Bright Nickel and Platinum Color: How to Tell the Difference
| Comparison point | Chrome | Bright Nickel | Platinum Color / White-Gold Tone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Specification type | Confirmed electroplating color | Confirmed electroplating color | Usually an appearance or trade color unless technically specified |
| Undertone | Usually cooler, sometimes blue-white | Usually slightly warmer and softer than Chrome | Usually soft and neutral; exact shade varies by reference |
| Reflection | Crisp and mirror-like when polished | Bright and lustrous with a warmer visual cast | Often less icy than Chrome; gloss must be specified separately |
| Ordering language | Electroplating Color: Chrome | Electroplating Color: Bright Nickel | Appearance Color: Platinum Color; sample required |
Simple customer color check
- Place labeled samples side by side on the same neutral white background.
- Use one consistent light source and compare them at the same angle.
- Check both flat areas and curved edges.
- Do not approve color from a phone photo alone.
- Keep the approved physical sample as the production reference.
- If the process is unknown, mark it “Pending Confirmation” instead of guessing.
Platinum Color does not automatically mean actual platinum or white-gold plating. Precious-metal content, coating structure, thickness and performance must be stated separately in the quotation and technical specification.
Real CHOIZIN Product Examples
These examples show how plated colors interact with structure and decoration. Variant names such as “Silver” may describe appearance rather than the complete plating specification, so confirm the final finish in the quotation and sample.
A Simple Three-Step Approval Process
Select a direction
Choose the product, appearance color, plating color and surface finish.
Approve the sample
Review the complete product under consistent lighting with the logo and packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is CHOIZIN’s regular silver-colored plating?
Chrome is our regular factory-confirmed option unless the quotation or approved sample specifies another finish.
Is Bright Silver the same as Chrome?
No. Bright Silver describes appearance; Chrome identifies a confirmed electroplating color.
How do I distinguish Chrome from Bright Nickel?
Compare labeled samples together under the same neutral light. Chrome normally appears cooler and crisper, while Bright Nickel normally appears slightly warmer.
Is Platinum Color actual platinum plating?
Not automatically. It may describe a visual target only. Any precious-metal content must be stated in the quotation and technical specification.
Can every product use every plating color?
No. Availability depends on the base material, part shape, order quantity and factory process. Confirm the selected product before sampling.
Which surface shows fingerprints more easily?
Highly reflective polished or mirror-like surfaces can make fingerprints and fine handling marks more visible. Packaging protection should be reviewed with the sample.
From Finish Selection to a Finished Branded Product
