How to Choose the Right Logo Method for Custom Compact Mirrors

The right logo method depends on the compact mirror material, surface, artwork, number of colors, order quantity and the finish the buyer wants to achieve. A method that works well on PU leather may not be suitable for a hard metal or acrylic surface.
Use screen printing for simple solid-color logos, digital printing for full-color patterns on suitable PU or fabric, UV printing for color graphics on compatible hard surfaces, laser engraving for a permanent mark, metal stamping for a logo formed directly in metal, and debossing or hot stamping for selected PU and packaging surfaces.
Yiwu Choizin Houseware Co., Ltd. has produced compact mirrors and related gift accessories since 2007. For each project, CHOIZIN reviews the selected product, surface, artwork, quantity and packaging before recommending a logo method.
Logo Method Comparison
| Method | Suitable surfaces | Best for | Color result | Main consideration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Screen printing | Compatible metal, plastic and PU | Simple logos and solid colors | One or a few colors | Not ideal for photos or complex gradients |
| Digital printing | Suitable PU, fabric and covering materials | Photos, gradients and full-cover patterns | Full color | Method depends on the covering material |
| UV printing | Compatible hard metal, plastic, acrylic and bamboo surfaces | Color logos, text and localized graphics | Full color | Surface compatibility must be tested |
| Laser engraving | Stainless steel, selected metal, bamboo and wood | Permanent names, logos and line artwork | No printed ink color | Contrast depends on the material and coating |
| Metal stamping | Stampable metal shells and hardware | Raised or recessed logos formed in metal | Follows the metal finish | Tooling, structure and quantity affect feasibility |
| PU debossing | Compatible PU leather | Subtle tactile branding | Usually no added color | Artwork should remain clear when pressed |
| Hot stamping | PU, paper boxes and cards | Metallic or colored foil branding | Gold, silver or selected foil colors | Foil and substrate must be compatible |
1. Screen Printing
Screen printing is a practical choice for a simple logo with one or a few solid colors. It can be used on compatible metal, plastic, PU and other prepared surfaces.
CHOIZIN commonly considers screen printing for brand names, icons and promotional designs. It is not normally the first choice for photographs, complex gradients or artwork containing many blended colors.
2. Digital Printing
Digital printing is suitable for photos, illustrations, gradients, repeated patterns and larger areas of color. For CHOIZIN compact mirror projects, it is commonly considered for suitable PU leather, fabric and other printable or transferable covering materials.
A PU compact mirror with a floral pattern, animal print or full-color illustration may be better suited to digital printing than screen printing.

3. UV Printing
UV printing applies ink directly to a compatible hard surface and cures it with ultraviolet light. It is commonly used for color logos, text and localized graphics on suitable metal, plastic, acrylic, bamboo and similar surfaces.
Digital Printing vs. UV Printing
| Digital printing | UV printing |
|---|---|
| Commonly used with suitable PU, fabric and covering materials | Commonly used with compatible hard product surfaces |
| Suitable for photos, gradients and large-area patterns | Suitable for color logos, text and localized graphics |
| The image can be printed or transferred according to the material | Ink is printed directly on the surface and UV cured |
4. Laser Engraving
Laser engraving is suitable for stainless steel, selected metal surfaces, bamboo and wood. It does not use colored printing ink and usually creates a clean, durable and understated mark.
The engraved color and contrast depend on the underlying material and coating. For this reason, laser engraving cannot always match a specified print color.
5. Metal Stamping
Metal stamping forms a raised or recessed logo directly in a metal shell or hardware part during production. It is not a printed finish and is different from laser engraving.
Metal stamping is suitable for stable projects with a fixed logo and repeat orders. CHOIZIN checks the product structure, material thickness, logo size, quantity and tooling requirement before confirming feasibility.

6. PU Debossing and Hot Stamping
Debossing presses a recessed mark into compatible PU leather. It is suitable for simple branding that requires a subtle tactile finish without printed color.
Hot stamping applies metallic or colored foil to a compatible surface. CHOIZIN can evaluate it for selected PU mirrors, gift boxes, cards and other packaging components.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are digital printing and UV printing the same?
No. Digital printing is commonly selected for complex color designs on suitable PU, fabric and covering materials. UV printing is commonly used for color logos and localized graphics printed directly on compatible hard surfaces.
Can a logo be stamped directly into a metal shell?
Some metal shells and hardware parts can be produced with a raised or recessed stamped logo. Feasibility depends on the structure, material thickness, logo size, quantity and tooling.
What is the difference between stamping and laser engraving?
Metal stamping forms the logo in the metal part during production. Laser engraving marks the surface of an already formed product or component.
Can every logo method reproduce an exact color?
No. Printed methods can follow approved color references, but the final result still depends on the ink, substrate and surface. Engraving and stamping normally follow the natural contrast or finish of the material rather than adding a printed color.
Do all logo methods have the same MOQ?
No. CHOIZIN confirms the MOQ according to the product, material, number of colors, process, tooling and total project requirements.
